Black Business Intelligence: The Nielsen Study

According to a recent Nielsen study, African-American income is increasing considerably, specifically for segments with household income of over $75k. We’ve seen several articles that boast about the buying power of African-Americans, which is currently near $1.1 trillion.

Access to higher education, technology and other opportunities have increased our earning potential. Unfortunately, there are few articles that brag about the circulation of the black dollar in the black community.

African-Americans should be aware of the numbers that have been collected on their behalf. Statistical analysis has been collected by impartial parties. This data provides an unbiased perspective, and it sheds light on the elephant in the room.

“If lack of income is not the primary concern, why aren’t black consumers supporting black businesses?”

Lack of information is the most common answer. Fortunately, with the emergence of black owned business directories, finding a black owned business is longer an issue.
