I recently celebrated my 30th birthday with a big yacht party bash at Lake Lanier with family and friends. We had a great time. Keeping with the I AM BLACK BUSINESS mantra of supporting black owned businesses, I felt fortunate to have five black owned services make my 30th a great success.
The first was Made You Look Photography, which is owned by Montoya Turner. Latisha Guster came out and did a phenomenal job. Her shots captured the essence of each moment. The pictures at the close of this post were taken by Mrs. Guster.
The second was Tending Services, owned by Cheryl Davis. This young lady is a bona-fide bartender. Her attitude and rapport with the guests were impressive. She kept the drinks flowing and demonstrated a high level of professionalism.
The third and fourth were Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe and Lounge and Michon's Smokehouse. Chef Rob's jerk and curried chicken (favorites among the guests), plantains, stir fry veggies, salmon, and rice and beans were all great. Michon's smoked wings and macaroni and cheese were also favorites as well.
Last but not least, were the awesome tunes from the DJ, Daniel Jackson, DJ About Business Productions. He created a lively atmosphere, playing favorites that covered a variety of genres. He kept us moving so much all night, I was able to skip leg day that week at the gym. Most importantly, his equipment was top notch, delivering great sound throughout the evening.
Whether you're throwing a large event or an intimate gathering, I strongly recommend all of these businesses!
